Japanese cargo airline Nippon has agreed a six-year extension of Rate Per Flight Hour Engine Service for GEnx-2B engine cover on its Boeing 747-8 freighter fleet.

The new service agreement extends the long-standing relationship between the two companies which started with the CF6 engine. Nippon Cargo now operates an extensive fleet of aircraft powered by GE’s CF6 and GEnx.

According to Nippon, Each Rate Per Flight Hour Engine Services offering is underpinned by GE’s data and analytic capabilities and experience to help reduce maintenance burden and service disruptions for customers.

Toshiaki Kobori, Managing Director of Engineering and Maintenance at NCA, said: “The Rate Per Flight Hour Engine Services Agreement between NCA and GE strengthens our partnership and will ensure our GEnx engines are covered into the new decade.”

Dave Kircher, General Manager of GEnx Product Line at GE Aerospace, commented: “GE Aerospace is proud to support NCA and its GEnx fleet. It’s an honor to continue the relationship and provide exemplary service and support.”
